High Above
What is it about Life that has us all baffled?
There must be an answer somewhere, out there
In this vast Universe full of wandering souls.
I fear that one day, when the world stands still,
Once more, everything we’ve ever dreamed of
Will come crashing down. A rockslide of emotions
That will tumble with a thunderous crash! Mixed
With the rubbish that we call our past. What is
Truly the will of the Gods that stare down upon
Us, as if we were ants milling about our daily business?
I dare think not a thing, for they just might read
My thoughts and cast me out to Oblivion’s Gates.
