Discord Harmony

Late at night, I lay and wonder,

What if I was never here?

Would things in the world be

Different than now …

What if I just disappeared,

Would anyone truly miss

This terrible soul?  I truly wonder

What those so called friends

Would say about me.  They’d

Laugh and be glad I was no more!

There would be no one to miss

Me if I were to leave this Universe,

No one at all!

This brings tears to my eyes,

Pain to my soul and discord

To my very core.  I’m sure

There are a handful who might,

Just might, find it odd if I were

To leave.  Yet, I know it would

Only last a couple of days, for

I’ve seen this before, people who

Claim to be a ‘friend’ and never

Speak to me again.  Time, over

And over, I see this happen.  So

I offer nothing, but watch from

A distance.

I sit and wonder, am I just dreaming

Some stupid little misunderstanding?

I think not and I continue to watch

From a distance, and read only to long

For what I see, all around me.
