Transverse
When restless sleep over takes
From dreaming lullabyes and
Time seems to be fleeting
Upon winged feet that travel
At the speed of light, I sit
Quietly in my dreams. Scenes
Transverse into hypnotic
Imagery that seems to seep
Colours beyond imagination
Until it has warped all, but me.
I’m disconnected from the
Self, not me but someone else,
Wandering in streets paved
With unknown trials as I
Find out the turn table needle
Has been broken and the
Tunes radiating from the music
Box are scratchy and out of sync.
No Fats Domino to make me
Dance into blissful slumber, but
White noise in which I find myself
Swimming, as if in a vast ocean
Of Self Awareness. They say
This too shall pass, yet in oblivion
I still sit waiting my turn.
