In the uncertainty of this life, one thing is
Clearly certain. As Fate would have it, I
Am destined to walk alone. Oh, don’t get
Me wrong, I’ve seen glimmers of that fabled
Hope that can bring light to the most impenetrable
Darkness! Yet, as Fate would have it, with her
Sister Destiny, never will I be able to grasp
Hold of that hope for it shall always slip through
My fingers.
Unconditional Love, something I’ve always
Craved through the years. It is something
That I’ve never been able to obtain. Even in
Childhood, I knew nothing of this type of Love.
So I bunked up with the first person who seemed
True to word. Little did I know, that in time, that
Mask would be taken off to reveal the truth.
Here I am again, at these same crossroads, yet
A different locale has been chosen, just like the
Other times in my life. The choices are not clear,
For there are many I could make. I find myself
Standing there in the middle of the road, unable to
Make a choice to continue on.
I sit in the road, letting the Sun burn my skin to
A blackened crisp and the tar adhere to my clothes.
