I'm so very tired
My soul is weary
This flesh is weak
It bruises easily
My heart ...
It breaks more
Each day that
Passed by and
I truly wonder
If there is anything
Left at this point
In time ...
I wander aimlessly
Trying desperately
... to no avail ...
There is nothing here
My soul is barren and
... alone.
Stumble I do
Upon the rocks
Skinned knees
Ache and throb
I crawl to the edge
Peer over into the
Darkness that seems
To cry out from
... below ...
Something holds me
Keeps me from plunging
Into the gorge
I struggle to break free
But, alas, I cannot!
I am left here to weep
In silence with no one
To comfort my aching
Soul.

Reviews of "Aching Soul"

An aching soul is a living soul. I think perhaps the soul experiences nothing but joy in all its forms but the body interprets this joy as a whole range of emotions including anguish, but also including joy itself. Maybe sometimes the joy of the soul is so intense that the body becomes overloaded which causes pain.
