It's been a long time ... and still I swim alone
in these waters. Their serenity is calming, yet
to share this wondrous state, that is something
to be cherished deeply within the heart.
Yet, alone I am ... and it seems, alone I shall
always be. I swim ashore and lounge upon
the greenest grasses, pluck the finest roses,
for no one but myself.
I watch the clouds as they float past, images
of animals changing shapes and sizes en mass.
Daydreams of sharing this wondrous place with
someone to love me for me. To dance into the
night, laugh with the stars and sing until way
past midnight.
I'm safe here, in my daydreams ...
Here, I can be me, no holds barred, no questions asked.
Here, I can sing and dance and be silly without a second
glance.
Here, I can be anything I want ... and I am happy.
It is always twilight, where the clouds can mingle with
the stars and mix their own wondrous hues of pinks
and purples.
I can fly here ... upon gossamer wings. Soar up high
and dive down low.
Yet, only a dream this is and not reality. And there are
no knights to come save me from the despair I so
desperately try to hide from. None, at least, not yet.
Perhaps, in time, reality might change.
I can hope.
I can dream.
