Island of the Dead

Thy ghost haunts me in waking dreams
that collide with the harshness of reality,
only to leave me stranded on some island
that was deserted so long ago.

This place is a cemetary, full of tombstones
and mine name graces the freshest grave.

Lost love to wander the moors and weep into
the darkest night for a ghost that shall never
roam the halls of mine heart.

I shalt walk forever in the shadow of thy
love, which outshines even the brighest of
full moons. There is no hope here for mine
soul to cling to, for thou hath buried me
deep in the recesses of time and in the back
of thy own mind.

Not even mine own ghost can penetrate as
I continue to eat thy pain as it mingles
with mine own. I still do not know where
I end and thou doth begin. Mine ghost, thou
hath left stranded here on this island of the dead.

And 'Old Friend' plays in the background for eternity.

Excellent work Lady Laura, once more.
I enjoy your dark writes.

"Not even mine own ghost can penetrate as

wow very powerful, made my say ouch ouch ouch and my thoughts wispered in my ear, she needs something more nutritional to eat.
Perhaps a bucket of freshly picked romantic berries.

Happy Holidays
