But A Dream

I grasp at the air in hopes of catching a distant memory to cling to. A jaded butterfly that floats upon the currents of air, fluttering wings that carry my despair. Butterflies ... A cherished memory that I hold so very dear. Close to my heart those words do stay, the emotions never truly coming to light within them. Alas, you were but a dream. If only I could fall back asleep and see your face there. To know those emotions again, instead of this heartache. Childhood glories that once came to light when we spoke and I knew then what true love was. Yet, now I know that such misguided fancies are false. Alas, you were but a dream. The butterflies shall never return, for they were of you, a dream of true love that shall never come true .

Fine writing Laura, emotion packed. Some dreams take a long time to come to fruition, maybe this is one.

I hope you get some snow tomorrow that is expected; could be fun to play in and bring back a sweet dream.
