It’s quiet now, here in this little
world I’ve grown to know. Your
words are no longer here, save
for memories gone past.
This is like looking through old
photographs, and I wonder where
you are. Heavy is my heart as
I sit here, hoping all is well, yet
there is a darkness that settles
upon my soul.
My kindred spirit, are you well?
Muddled are the thoughts I sense,
darkness clouds …
… enshrouds.
Reverie, reading back, smiling
and now, there is a loss felt deep
within my own soul. Perhaps I
read too deep, the memories that
I go back and glance at from time
to time.
Every dove I see, brings back memories.
Has that one that flies so high learned
to land yet? I fear my wings have been
coated in crude oil and there is no one
to cleanse them. Fly I cannot, only wade
in this vast ocean of life.
Contemplative face, deep in thought.
There is so much there yet both muddled
so very much!
Kindred spirit, are thee well?
I can only hope, for thou art greatly missed
here in my little shell of a world.
Can you hear me calling out in the distance … softly.
Wow, Laura. We must be on the same wave length today. Have you read my poem "Moving Out"? It's uncanny we're dealing with similar topics at the same time. Thanks.
