New Poem Monologue at 4 AM
Monologue at 4 AM I’m in a state far away of mind and Nonspatial continuum… Infinitesimal thought patterns I stumble Impossibly heavy My bedroom a mental minefield My body a sagging load Left with nothing But the sound of your Insipid snoring The deafening silence The blank stare The air conditioners incessant Screaming Relentless siren! I sit docile as a pregnant whore And now these strange thresholds Terra incognita Sucking away my ire Testing my mettle The cats will not notice They are fat from milk And greed I sit, unfilled, empty Funneled out of your Nameless ocean your Starless sky The clear waves rise like Nameless projections Jutting and fawning at my embarrassed ignominy – my paucity of neurons. In confessional poetry, I always feel as though the author is baring their soul to me personally. This one is so beautifully written...I enjoyed very much reading it and thank you for sharing it here.
