Now that we’re separated by a thousand miles or more,
I linger in memories sweet,
I long for you,
and would love to share with you, once again,
The time we spent,
I dream about those moments long ago,
on that rainy Alaskan night.
We watched a movie, who remembers the title?
You moved closer, your fingers slipping into mine,
I wanted to hold you, warm you, love you,
You hit the pause button, only for the movie,
But the plot thickened, romantically
On that rainy Alaskan night,
Then we kissed, it wasn’t an intentional slip…
On my part, but I have to confess;
Those lips, your lips,
Were the sweetest lips I have ever kissed.
Those lips were deliciously, seductively, erotically
And memorably the kisses I remember most
From the time we shared while watching a movie,
on that rainy Alaskan night.
I was skimming through your poetry, and this one grabbed my attention: I have a l w a y s wanted to go to Alaska! Hear the scenery is gorgeous, but I bet you weren't paying much attention...sounds delightful! Bet y'all shook the Northern Lights southward! Good on you--excellent recollection in passionate verse; well done!
Nicely done. I have missed quite a few movies because the kissing causes me to lose my concentration on the plot (LOL!!!) Thanks for sharing, Dan. Love and peace to you,
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
