Give and Go

Here we stand at a crossroad;
We no longer love, that’s the one thing we know.
You wanted me to give heart and soul,
I gave, and then you said I had to go.

Give and go, gave all I had
Plus a little more, wasn’t enough,
So in the end, all you wanted
From me…was to give,…and go.

As time went by I knew it would
end up the same;
just another case
Of give and go,

You said:
No time for you now, but don’t be
A stranger, I think…I love you so,
But be a darling, won’t you just
Give and go.

I said:
The rivers of love run deep and strong,
I missed the signs, that’s where I went wrong,
You didn’t want love, didn’t know how to give love…so,
I won’t return in a day, week, month or even a year…
I gave you my love and now I’ll go.
