I've been working on this poem for a few years...
Tug of War © 2007 Dan Johnson My mind for some time had been in conflict with itself. One side pulling against the other. Fighting over un- resolved issues, plaguing my head for god knows how long. Just when I thought I had it figured out; like The onion, another layer of confusion revealed itself, much to my dissatisfaction and dismay. Now I know why the drinker drinks, the druggie does drugs, the thinker thinks too much. I swear; I sometimes thought this was madness and my mind was absent, but then my therapist said…don’t worry, all you have is a mild case of being ambivalent. But I see our time is up for today… and the tug of war rages on.

Don't worry be happy-clappy that's what I tell myself each day...but damn hard to listen to myself!!
