Has anyone seen the travelin child? She’s kinda meek, she’s kinda mild. Someone said they saw her in a far off place Others say she’s left no trace.
Travelin’ child, oh travelin child, Where have you been, Traveling child, Where you gonna go?
Maybe on a mountain high, Perhaps dancing with eagles that split the sky.
I saw her one day in foggy London town, Another said, Traveling Child was Tennessee bound.
Travelin’ child, oh travelin child Where have you been? What mountain have you gone down?
Born on a farm near South Bend, She started early in life. travelin’ down a road that would never end.
Found a vision, seemed unclear, Felt a calling A voice she’d hear, Then someone said “if you want to go within To get to the fruit, You gotta go out on a limb.”
Travelin' child, oh traveling child where have you been? Traveling child, where are you going to go?
