Road Kill � 2008 Dan Johnson If you drive south on Interstate 5, from Eugene, Oregon to highway 38, then drive west about 20 miles you will discover a tavern known as �The Road kill,� the sight of many highway disasters for man and beast alike, thus the name. Considering the political fall out that is taking place, perhaps we should look at some of the victims we have lost along the way. It seems appropriate that we erect tombstones for those dearly departed. Here lies Rudy Giuliani, Putting all his marbles on voters in Florida, Maybe he shoulda� had a better swami. Here lies Dennis Kucinich, Being commander in chief was his wish, He took a beating at voter�s booth, Ended up with a big old Zilch. Here lies Fred Thompson, Senator, Actor, wanted to be bolder, Found out real fast He should have stayed on �Law and Order.� Here lies John Edwards, Tried sticking up for the working guy, People must have wondered why He had to buy that $400 �du.� There will be others to fall by the side of the road, Then quickly, we will return to reality and ask �Whatever happened to�what�s his/her name?� The remaining players will carry on With their political aspirations as if was just a game. There was a political button with one word on it that described exactly what the voters were getting whether they won or lost
