More Madness on the Bus
Dan Johnson
© 7 January, 2013

On this chilly Monday morn
I got on the bus,
But the looks of the riders
Were sad and forlorn.
Quiet filled the seats
Where the riders sat,
Then I noticed something strange,
Made me wish other plans I’da arranged,
The guy with ear phones,
The gal with eyes fixed low,
They all collectively each and everyone
Bowed their heads in supplication
To this most vexing situation,
This could, I thought, bring our nation
To its knees, for this question must be asked,
Reading, riding, texting, maybe even sexting and
listening to their music as the bus is gliding;
How the hell will people see where
They’re going if everyone is always looking

Down?

Good point well made, Dan. Hopefully the bus driver is not doing the same thing. Love and peace,

Thank God that they are passengers - Today, I see far too many people who are driving cars, trucks, and even buses doing the same damned thing.

They are multitasking. Multitaskers can read, have sex (vicariously) and find their bus stop without ever having to smile, say hello, or chat with fellow bus riders. ;-) As such they are superior people who don't need relationships, just sex and where to get off.

You are a master observer of modern life. Keep up the good work.

D.L.,

The world is changing, people are afraid to look up, they may have to face the world and they'd rather hide behind their cell phones, etc. Very perceptive write!

Blessings to you,

I see people, especially younger ones, walking into walls, posts, etc. It's downright hilarious! People don't talk anymore, nor do they write...sadly its the way of the future...will humans forget how to speak one day? Nicely done, Dan...

Wao! This is so true, I like how you described this growing epidemic so elegantly, we have become a society unaware, seems like voodoo to me lol, getting the life sucked out of us and we don't even know it. How do you even say hello? no interaction, it is very scary.

Never mind our heads down, we've had our heads up our a***s for much too long, and I'm afraid we don't have the grit to pull it out . . .

They can't if they are looking down...
Sad state of affairs... unity and comradeship sadly
has become "me-isms" it's where we have lost the fight so
to speak in this world... from whence it used to be many decades
ago...

I am such a social creature I would disturb everyone LOL
Although I do savor my privacy, but in public I do become the
extrovert :)

Time for people to wake up and see what they are truly missing!
Humankind! Before we are left with the insensitivity of the robot
world and lose what we once had...

Excellent perception and notice of all around you...

Must be they intend to become coal miners, or maybe work in silver, diamonds or copper. Or maybe they expect to dig deeper.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
