Words
Are like tender strands of grass; gorgeously green, fragrant, flawless
That’s the way I would like to remember them, but,

Words
Are like gravel, gritty, without flavor and leave marks that hurt forever.

Words
Are like the wind they blow hard, fast, furious and leave destruction in their wake.

Words
Are like giant waves from the ocean; sometimes long, ubiquitous, over syllabified, pretentious, laborious and without meaning and sometimes,

Words
Are like little waves that sweetly kiss the shore, touch the soul with joy, roll into our lives like the peace train…those are words I want to live with, love with, die with and want to be remembered with.

Let words forever be the latter...

"Words
Are like little waves that sweetly kiss the shore, touch the soul with joy, roll into our lives like the peace train…those are words I want to live with, love with, die with and want to be remembered with."

For with these beautiful words, so many changes can for the
better be changed..

Wise and lovely spoken words...

Your poem is very creative and full of similes, the stuff of words. Write on…

So true...words can be more destructive than anything and yet they can be priceless treasures...nicely done, Dan..

the approach is signficant and telling in
this poem as you chose, Dan, to make it immediate
and personal through similes and that's what does it
for me; no dry abstractions here, this work is alive
and completely enjoyable
kudos!

Exceptionally well constructed are these . . . Words . . . You have conveyed the range and depth and flightiness of . . . Words . . . You have given meaning to . . Words.

Excellent poem about the power of words. As I finished reading the last line the phrase, "First there was the word." popped into my head.
