An extremely short story-dlj

 Constant Hope
Dan Johnson

She sits across from me, the bus moves on. Her head buried, staring at device…waiting for next message from absent lover. She misses the next three stops; but she has constant hope.

And where would we be without hope; I've been close to that of late... ...and it's not pretty. Thank you, Dan. Love and peace,

D.L,

Excellent perception of today's world. Teens especially can't seem to live withour their cellphone's. In MY day their were no cellphones to speak of, just the landline phone's. My daughter's phone travels with her where ever she goes, and so does HER daughter's. Progress? I'm not so sure.

Love and blessings,
+Linda

So very sad, and I see dozens like her every day who cannot live without those devices.

Yes, absorbed in a world of their own, the text people are in constant communication and constantly hoping for a way out.

Hope is the water that quenches our thirst I think.. no matter what we are hoping for... a text, a call, or just a thought to drift upon us, a memory that waits for us to acknowledge it. Yes we may miss a few stops a long the way but what does that really matter...there will be other stops... I love this piece! Thank you for sharing it, TD..)
hugs and love

I see that daily . . . I don't text . . . I don't answer texts . . I use the phone as a phone . . . Out of touch with the modern world? . . . most definitely! . . . Darn good writing . . .
