With heavy heart I place my pen
Upon the shelf at Author's Den
For this is where I sought to write
Into the wee hours of the night

A poetress I chose to be
But finances got a hold of me
Therefore I will no more submit
My tales of love and woe and wit

Forever grateful and in your debt
These other poets I have met
Who cheered me on through darker times
And never scoffed my silly rhymes

I thank each one of you by heart
You picked me up and helped me start
I will read those lines you pen
Then you'll be in my heart again.
