Storms of life!
Steering into heavy seas
troubles rise up to your knees
your compass lost, no stars to guide
no point of reference far and wide
Forlorn up on the heaving bridge
tight to the wheel, like to a hitch
going for the ride
nowhere else to hide
Waves keep crashing over me
water rising now to waist from knee
mast are creaking
and below the deck is leaking
Alone the winds me flay
no one near to bid me stay
yet a promise I do keep
not in storms or strive to weep
Though a tear, or is it wash
the salty seas my face do squash
the burdens in my chest do grow
and are getting heavy so
But when the seas do calm
that heavy burden will be balm
it's my soul that I do carry
no compromise or tarry
It's easy to abandon ship
many times upon a trip
would treasure keep or leave behind
carry on the journey blind
Save our souls, a prayers beacon
no matter how the planks are leaking
when the seas are calm
tar them all with balm
If god, or love, your guiding light
save harbour can from you not hide
through stormy seas of life
all the sorrows, all the strife
