When a loved one dies

You know that pain down in your gut
When a loved one passes on
They're with you sharing in your life
Then suddenly they're gone

Well, I've had that pain now mother
When your life was plucked away
And father brought it back to me
When God took him on that day

And even though we all must die
For some, Its all too soon
Cause it matters not how poor you are
Or born with a silver spoon

But I try to pass it down the line
Of the happiness we all shared
And the grandkids often talk of you
Cause' they know how much you cared

Someday they're going to feel this pain
Thats all part of Gods creation
And I only hope that the love we shared
Will pass through each generation
