Lovers’ Fairy Tale

let me tell a story

of long ago

a fairy tale

of two lovers

holding a dream

forbidden to see each other

yet love brought them through

in a story

they walked home in morning dew

just a fairy tale

by the light of the moon

for you see only at midnight

did they venture forth

to stand along

a sandy shore

wishing they could sail away

they looked into the sky

just like a wink of an eye

a falling star

flew across

landing somewhere in the sea

let me tell a story

of two lovers

so very long ago

in a fairy tale

a happy ending

met them there

so blue and true

as in their life apart

but in another

they would always be

together

in a story of long ago

many moons had passed

they were lovers for eternity
