(spring morning)
this crisp cool spring
warmth is fleeting
leaving the flowers to shiver
shaking their petals
crying, softly trembling
the colors are icy glazed
awaiting the morning sun
shaking off the cool dew
the skies are deep blue
the snow is melting slowly
the water flows like ice
which winter’s left behind
reminding us of its power
(spring warmth)
the water flowed free
foamed the stones
under and over
rocks and boulders
fallen pine lay prone
the power of water
the freedom of the flow
the canyon in the shadow
snow tipped mountain top
awaiting warmth to thaw
summer awakens
the storm clouds proclaim
a thunderous approach
lightning brightens the sky
leaving winters’ frozen dream
Dale, I am happy to have checked out your poem. I felt transported to this world of fresh nature, I could see, smell and feel it's grace. Thank you so much! I will read more of your poetry.

Whisper to the olorado rockies that Lady Peg misses them.

with misty eye I was homesick reading this one

In the spring as that winters frozen dream unfolds and thows I remember the smell streams coming down from up high and the floral array and aspens spring leaves and the green the green speckles flowing and the Bolders and rockies in majestic splurge.... I think I need a trip home soon !!!
