Love is Bliss

I open the window
the sun floods in
I close the blinders
the light flows
through the cracks
the shadows cross the bed

She walks into the room
I lie upon the shadows
She trips over the chains
that I drug in
She says Oh clumsy me
and laughs
her shadow covers me
I see the silhouette
of her feet
wrap around my legs

I see the form of her leg
as she crosses my thighs
We embrace
the fading sun falls
as we kiss, we wish
for the freedom of  lovers

I open the blinders
we’re covered
by orange and red hues
the sun sets
then twilight falls
in a purple haze

Her shadow has released me
yet she holds me infinitely
into the coming night
and love is momentous

Her eyes like star light
reflect upon my face
they shine and sparkle
I see her beauty
on the face of the moon
smiling upon the universe

I know now
I’ll drag these chains
no more
even when the sun rises
We’ll be free to love
I open the window
she laughs
and says Oh I love you
I laugh
and say I love you too

Just like the warmth of the sun
Our love is an eternal light
We’re free to fly
to soar, to sing
