Feverish Hearts

Our hearts are feverish
powerful as love

Love to be defined
to a heart fickle
A wandering soul

Desire appears
as the sun sets
Night falls

You wonder how betrayal
has captured you
with pain and sorrow

You carry it
like a torch
passion is delirious

You really had me pegged
Funny but I think you knew me
better than I did

Was I that vain and shallow
only the broken hearted know
better than I could

If I could say I was special
you’d be the one to tell me; No
you only think you are

How’s a man supposed to know?

You said Oh you can write
but tell me are you sincere
I know my heart was beating

But for who?
The poet who defined love
as the one thing unknowable

You were special and beautiful
and why couldn’t I see it

Isn’t that sad
and the pain you carry,
is it for me?

Our hearts are feverish

Does that define love?

Love so often brings questions and yet it is so difficult to define. I am in love with an incredible man who brings me such happiness, however, there will always be doubts. Often it is self doubt that mars the picture of perfection.
What defines love? Each can only define what it means to him or her. For me it is something indefinable and yet I will continue to express in the hope of capturing its essence.
Take care friend and have a very merry Christmas!

Dale,

You are a poet who wears his heart on his sleeve, that, my friend,
is never a bad thing!

Dear CJ,

If we pour more Love into Passion and more Passion into Love, then the questions are answered for us.

I think fever doesn't define love but i think it makes it more alive. It is a balance, and if the love is there, the fever is as well. Good one.

Our hearts are feverish
Does that define love?

It surely defines passion, but maybe love requires a little more.
