Dance in your Eyes

I sat at the bar smoking a cigarette
drinking a beer
You walked in with some friends
I caught your eye and saw a twinkle

The band begin to play
I asked you to dance
We boogie woggied
I watched you move and knew
you were so fine

They played a slow song
I put my arms around you
looked into your eyes
I saw you dancing there
Your smile lit me up

I felt the heat grow inside me
as we touched and held each other
You smile to light up my heart
I see that dance in your eyes

We danced until the band broke
We sat at a booth and smooched
Your friends giggled at me
I whispered You’re so beautiful

You whispered in my ear tickling me
You are so sweet and charming
I said what about my dancing
and laughing you whispered again
You’re a warm spot in my heart

I kissed you again
You danced in your eyes
