Lovers’ Rain When the rain came in we were misunderstood as our tears of dust turned into muddied trust When the wind blew in we were out of breath as the truth rushed out embracing shallow stillness We became stuck spinning our lonely lies our luck had run out flowing into the ruts Our love was flooding pooling into puddles of tears shimmering in the moon light drowning our sorrowful shadows Our love was submerged obscured by midnight’s chime a storm cloud floated by carrying our passions We just drifted apart reaching for each other our hearts beating alone a lonely moon stole them away The stars fell towards earth leaving fiery trails our love just flamed out we had became hollow Lovers’ Rain washed our love away © 2003 CJ Clark All Rights Reserved
