Reach Out and Touch   Page 24

 The Sound Of Poverty

Will all the givers come forth

Reach one person at a time

Reach out to those who are standing in line.

Reach out to the one who doesn’t have a dime.

Can’t you see her lying on the floor

Shivering cuddled up next to the door.

On the streets without a thing to eat

She doesn’t even have shoes on her feet.

Reach out to her children that starves

From time to time,

Can’t you see the one who stands by her mother

crying because she doesn’t know

why she hasn’t had enough to eat.

They are all dressed in dirty rags

The children look up at their mother

who wears poverty as a shoulder bag

too heavy to carry because there is so much pain inside,

she drags her feet looks on the ground

while she prays another day they

all will be able to find something to eat

and have a decent place to sleep.

Your excerpt has reached out and touched a forgotten element of our society.

Keep bringing it to our attention.

A eye opening piece of poetic expression about poverty. This is America I would assume. This is not a third world country am I right? Someone indeed will go to sleep hungry tonight.

Peace, love and blessings to you,

John Michael Domino

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
