Hitching a ride today, hitching a ride
the crowded bus, I
cannot face today,
so from school to home I hide,
home is an unknown place,
but something knows the way.
They only stop when its raining, Lord
and sun shone in my face today,
so I walked all the way home
where at happiness I play.
Hitching a ride in a white dress
where I appear as a sea gull
roaming the desert.
Cars fly by, eyes that flirt
but do not think I am in distress.
I am left with miles to ponder and mull.
They only stop when its raining, Lord
and sun shone in my face today,
so I walked all the way home
where at happiness I play.
I live in a large red brick house
in the middle of an ancient
battle ground, now quiet as a park.
There we are like hunter and grouse,
a chorus of wailing hounds
and my guitar is naught but a hint,
in the night of my lost soul, a spark.
