Life had been so unkind and he was so weary, he just needed someone to watch over him

She became his oasis in an arid land,
She would gather him close and nurture this sad man.
He was thirsty for a woman's care, he needed solace to be applied,
He needed someone to care and hold him when he cried.
She could refresh him like gentle Spring Rain,
He wished to drink from her well again and again.
She whispered," Come weary traveler and take your rest",
She held him close and he immersed himself into her gentleness.
She would not stay forever, just long enough to fill his need,
She had great sympathy for him, she had heard his heart plead.
She held him close and he placed his head on her rose scented breasts,
For this moment in time, he was granted sweet rest.
When he healed, she would tell him good-bye,
For she will have mended his wings, so he can now fly.
