She Wolf's Lament

I embrace the aloneness of the She Wolf and understand and feel her pain.

A wayward breeze rustles the leaves of the weeping willow, making it sigh,
I hear the sad call of the whippoorwill and it's sound makes me cry.
The darkness of the night, swallows me whole,
I carry secrets in my heart that can't be told.
I seem to wallow in sadness, I wear it like a shroud,
I whimper inwardly, but never out loud.
Sometimes my pain runs so deep, that it can't be expressed,
I must bear it alone, it is my test.
My arms stay firmly at my side, never to reach out,
Silence is golden, but inwardly I shout.
A lone train whistle echoes through my head, as it chugs by,
Sometimes the solitude of me, makes me want to die.
I am a nomad that wonders from place to place,
I am invisible, no one sees my face.
I wonder how it would feel to be the puzzle piece that fit,
To be accepted and be part of a closeknit.
There are some born to be alone,
No matter if they are amid a crowd, or among a family at home.
Alone is a state of mind,
Some will always seek, but never find.
As I, The She Wolf, lick my wounds,
I gaze at the night sky and howl at the moon!

SC,
Yes I feel your sadness today in this poem. One thing you should remember, as Ted said today in his poem, There is a lot about our lives that is predestined. We cannot change some things, for they are set by a higher power. Perhaps your sadness comes from another lifetime.
Much healing energy to you SC, and peace, and love, and light,

This piece is just wonderful and so awe inspiring. This comes so painfully close to how I have been feeling for the past few months now. Outwardly I smile, stand tall, firm...inwardly praying, screaming and crying to no avail. Yes, this one strikes a chord.....

Be safe,
Karen

SC,I think this may be one of your best writes yet,"alone is a state of mind darlin",your words...wolves are fighters and survivors
So i can see that is a common trait you share, but all wolves can do is howl at the moon, you put your heart on paper,
