It's Not Easy Being Gray

Shadow Children grow up to be Shadow People, finding out that it is not easy being gray.

Stupid! Weird! Worthless! Crazy!
A waste of space and too damn lazy!
These are the words that are used to describe a Shadow Child,
Making just trying to live a constant trial.
Memories will always color our life,
They keep us in shadows, always filled with strife.
Shadow People are sometimes just too numb to complain,
We suffer in silence and try to make a friend of pain.
Sticks and stones will break bones, but words leave a scar on the heart,
Words cause low self esteem, making us loners, setting us apart.
Gray is the color of Shadow People, we are always in gloom,
We are the rosebuds that never had a chance to bloom.
Our trust issues make us moody and depressed,
Our relationships always fail, for we constantly test.
Loving a Shadow Person is a task,
We expect understanding even before we ask.
If someone brave will stay the course, in return we will give loyalty and devotion,
Our love is vast and deep as the ocean.
Our past comes to haunt in night terrors, flashbacks and trips to Hell,
We sometimes get a little better, but never completely well.
It is not easy being gray,
We are encased in shadows everyday.

SC,
We choose our life, I totally relate to this, and most of us that write have had much pain and suffering in our lives. It is up to us, as adult enlightened people of this Universe, to live in lightness, love ourselves and strive for peace in the world and within us.
Much Love, peace, and illuminating light for this coming year!
Love ya,

I've been in the shawdows, but never no more.
The stuff that use to hurt is not around like
it use to be. The thing is, when darkness comes
I don't dwell on the crap.
Very well penned my dear
Loves ya SC

This is a soul baring look at what becomes of children with damaged emotional and physical scars that don't always heal. They can be loved but it takes a lot of work and a lot of caring...

S.C.,

I was a shadow person for so long. Shadows disappear at high noon. Let us walk at noon for eternity. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

Time to step into the light, feel the sun, abandon night. No more shadows waiting for you instead friendships spring anew. A light hidden can never cast rays, and in our past does not our future lay. Take a chance, let your passions flow, without desire they have no place to go... step up bat firmly in hand and swing for the fences, past the grandstands ... no need to dely, no need for dismay, just a tad bit of trust, fiends lighting the way.

A moving write well penned, I've had a few children that you've described so powerfully well in my classroom, actually at least one every year or so...I seem to be drawn to them as they seem to need much attention, love, and understanding. Well done my friend...you've penned it well!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
