Simple Civility is the due of every Man
Honour - Respect - Admiration - Esteem
These you must earn with your actions in life
A Man's Reputation is all he can ever truly call his own
Everything else he possesses, is but perishable trinkets
One always desires a Reputation of Honour
But it is that which is deserved, he will receive
Ask One - Ask Two - Ask Ten Men what they honestly see
Eight of Ten will agree - This, is Who You Be
Fore it is his to make by the actions he takes
As the action he takes defines the reputation he makes
It become his, as he defines it, it belongs to him and no other
And no Man should put it Asunder
As History is Written by the Victors
So to, can a reputation be written by one's aggressors
Harm is not just in the destroying
But in elevating one that is justly tarnished
A Reputation of ill repute, is a Reputation of Dishonour
A Reputation of Malfeasance causing feelings of Trepidation
Feeding on the putrefaction of Men's Souls
The Unjust Man's Reputation should be Just
Just as he deserves, a Reputation Replete of Dishonour
Honour you don't earn through Treachery
You don't receive Respect by using Brutality
Admiration bestowed because your Powerful
A gun to my head may make my mouth say the words
But my heart is where lies the "Truth" of what I see
Irreverence - Blaspheme - a Reputation is a Sacred Thing
A Man should Nurture his Reputation
Tend to it as one would tend a garden
Cultivating the Soul, enriching the Moral Virtues
Planting seeds of Justice, being Benevolent in all things
Removing all weeds that Rob the Soul
This above all: to thine own self be true ,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Good Words - True Words - Read it Again!
Bestow Honour on this Noble Virtue of Man
When another falsifies a Man's Reputation
He harms more than the Man
He harms his legacy, that Echo of himself
That which he left behind for prosperity
He who puts it Asunder, be the Green-Eyed Monster
Once altered, Dull is its Gleaming
An act of God can't change it
And the "Truth" of the Man gets buried
No mourner - No pallbearer - No casket
Just the entombment of "Truth"
That "Truth" should be Absolute
So should the Evidencing of a Man
When Judging the Trustworthiness of Another
Take care in the examination of the evidence
As this, is the Cornerstone of a Man's Reputation
A Man's Reputation is a sacred thing
And should be treated with all due reverence
As it is something earned
It should be a source of Great Pride
Pride is that Source of Spirit for Self-Respect
The Character of Being Worthy of the Respect of Other's
This is the Natural Process to Judge your Personal Worth
If thou has been True to all Men
And you have not wavered in this
Then all good Men will acknowledge this
Fore upon his death his Reputation he takes
As his actions have now become limited
If Honour is in your Name
Men will speak words of reverence
Echoing of his deeds and Offering Just Words of Homage
What he leaves behind is an Echo of his time
That Echo is His Reputation
I think all people should read this and heed it.
