Such a beautiful write my friend...inspiring indeed! Our life will reflect the choices that we make throughout life! A very warm and caring poem, I cherish my memories with my grandmother canning vegetables in the fall, planting flowers in the spring, scraped knees, chocolate pies, and later in life the wonderful advice that she gave me when my children were ill, or walking to church with her as I was blessed at that time to live very near her. I miss her much, but know that we will meet again when my time comes...touching and beautiful...enjoyed!

Emile - Love the title. Life is the ultimate judge of the worth of our choices. Especially liked the concluing stanza:

What we feel is the love that bonds
And hints to us where we are bound
Sometimes a sight, sometimes a sound
Will wake us up, as life responds.

What beautiful images your words conjure up in my mind, Emile. I too had wise and loving grandmas that taught me much, and that I've retained in my Memory Bank, which, fortunately is very good and active to this day. I so enjoy the final two lines, and would add "sometimes an aroma...", as it was at the side of boths grandmas that I learned to cook, beginning at age 3...on step stools :o)

"When Life Responds" is a warm and caring poem. It seems that many of us remember experiences with "grandma" more than anyone else. I recall grandma in the kitchen, passing out hot biscuits to us kids. We'd poke a finger in the edge of them and fill the hole with sugar cane syrup. Thanks for the memory.
