The Life of "Boo"-Before the Brain Tumor!

I have written self-biography poems about me which have included past and present happennings.

This time, I wanted to write SPECIFICALLY about MY LIFE, as I remember it, with help from my 3 older sisters memories, on events of what I did on certain days and instruments I played.

I have LIVED for SO LONG NOW with the brainstem tumor and then without it yet with effects of it; I have forgotten what LIFE was LIKE BEFORE I EVER HAD A BRAINSTEM TUMOR! All I can ever really remember are just lightbulb flash memory moments in time.

As an infant, my sister said, I would
see something laying near me, "grunt as if wanting to see that object", then hold my breath!

My two eldest sisters, Anna and Kristina, would come running up to me, they said, and would grab the "toy or apple part" and give it to me even though it was well within my infant part of reach. Talk about having Life good!!! (grin)

White petticoat ruffles,
Blue crossties. This describes my
favorite swimsuit outfit out of all
of mine and this was at 3 years of
age! I loved the water!

Didn't Uncle George know that Three dimes was more than Two Quarters?
I learned that when I turned four!

When I was five,I told Mom it was
OK to get the Divorce, AS LONG AS
I could have my 7-up and my
kiddie swim-pool! She said, "Yes"!

When I was Seven years old,
I would FAKE falling asleep,
To GET OUT of DOING THE DISHES,
At least TWO nights a WEEK!

Swimming at the neighbor's pool,
Playing "Marco-polo".
The Kids would have to tell me in
what direction they were coming
from though, because I cannot tell
where sound is coming from for I am
DEAF in one ear and have a loss
in the other ear.
So, the neighborhood kids,
Shelly,Eric,David,Slyvia,Vivian,
Anna, Kristina, Julie and I would play in the pool.
They would say "Marco-Polo-to the right,2 steps", or maybe "Marco-Polo-to the left, 3 steps", or maybe "Marco-Polo-ahead 4 steps", or behind you touch out!" It was really a lot of fun and I actually caught quite a few of the kids that way. All the kids were nice about my hearing loss and did not
make a big stink out of it.
I really APPRECIATED that! Today, I do, back then I would not have known the difference!

Juneria Berges. She is my old choir teacher and is now a personal friend for I have grown past High School years.
Lord knows where I would be without her!

The Piano I did get,
Lessons I did take.
Music filled my soul,
with a resonance filled
vibration of harmony
and rhapsody.
It became my essence
of being!

First Personal Competition,
Sightreading/Singing,UIL,
All-State Choir,
Got a II!!!!!
(Highest is I)
I was PROUD!)
Juneria was PROUD!
Life was going okay!

Becca, your beautiful words paint a very descriptive picture of your life.

I really loved this verse:

"The Piano I did get,
Lessons I did take.
Music filled my soul,
with a resonance filled
vibration of harmony
and rhapsody.
It became my essence
of being! "

Truly sings....
Blessings,
Libby
