May I Speak
From the mouth of a child comes the truth, only to fall on the deaf ear of the opposing listener. The bellowing of the adult is heard in the background with that usual engaging voice. “Children should be seen and not heard.” The child shudders for his opportunity again is slighted, May I Speak.
From the time he was seven months old he started his first sentence. The glee in his parent’s eyes was more than pleasure; it was a sign that here is a beautiful and fulfilling voice. Others thought the child needed to stay in his place, much too young to have an adult’s thought. “Do as I say and not as I do,” May I Speak.
The young boy has turned into a teen and environments have changed, but issuing the same result. Peers do not listen to what the young prodigy has to say. He is not from around here, or must prove himself to the new group, needing to speak.
The teen is now a young man and his desire to speak has been extinguished through wrong junctures taken on his journey through life. There but for a few fleeting moments he would be called upon to speak and show there was a big voice with profound thoughts.
The man arrives and there too his delight, the truth comes from the mouth of a child. This is the birth of again another prodigy and the words now fall on the ears of an obeying listener. There will be no such words as May I Speak, only those of;
He Speaks.
