Blankly staring into my eyes you wait,
your face a vast empty terrain,
begging for my attention.
I see coldness,
awaiting the warmth of my touch.

Searching deep inside,
I find nothing to offer you,
Instead I am empty,
blank, cold as you.

For the first time,
I sit alone with you.
The other has abandoned us,
I call him daily,
he answers not.

Days pass, then weeks,
we dance,
round and round,
your blank face,
begging.
Inside me,
only emptiness.

I curse loudly,
you stare blankly,
cold, needy.
At night,
I sleep alone,
feeling the pull of your call,
unable to reply.

Temptation tells me,
walk away,
its over,
move on,
don’t look back.

Morning shines,
he enters my heart,
and fills my mind,
with his return,
INSPIRATION!

My pen glides,
words become features.
I look upon you,
once empty, cold,
blank,
we are satisfied.

An interesting write so depressing, almost given up on life itself, perhaps the imagination is hard at work. Enjoyed reading!

Be safe,

Marilyn, this captured my soul this morning...it is beautiful! Sometimes we feel like HE will never respond to our needs and then bingo HE returns to fill us with peace & love.
