She turns to look at her son who is sleeping beside her and her eyes fall upon the source of the light. It stands three feet tall the light is from the hair that stands on it’s head in red and yellow flames. It looks at her through blood filled slits in it’s broad grin she sees evil intent. A clawed hand reaches out to touch the boy She knows that in that touch is death. Pulling her son close she screams “YOU CANNOT HAVE MY SON!” As the apparition disappears she feels the heat of the fever that has invaded her son’s body. She rushes him to the doctor Temperature; 104 diagnosis; scarlet fever Medication and stay overnight the boy will be fine. She sits by his bedside giving thanks to the voice that woke her.
