Silent and relaxed
Up high on that old tree
Turning colors
As pretty as can be

The wind is now calling
So they all start falling
Slowly towards the ground

But the angry wind
Is now starting to really blow
Getting prepared
For a whirling and twirling show

As they quickly whip around
That angry wind begins to frown
Dancing and not yet falling
To destination ground

Around and around
In a mad circle they go
Faster and faster
Making way for winter snow

With a speedy streak
Then so suddenly
Without much notice
They become ever so weak

Down they all go
Slowly starting to fall below
Peacefully hitting the ground
Resting until the next race show

The angry wind will back again
But no one knows when

I love the sense of nature and time you have created in this beautiful dance of seasons.

I have to say the winds can get very angry at times and when it does watch out. I prefer to me inside at those times. Thank you for sharing Staci.

...it blows when we least expect it, and when it does, we cling onto life as we know it, until its strength surpasses ours and our weakened self... releases...gently, softly...and then, we die~
Loved this write and I could feel the wind excellerate with your words!

Oooooo! A cold winter's day with snow falling. Hmmmm, makes me want to stoke that fireplace of mine so we can all gather around and keep cozy warm. Great write...

Be safe,
Karen

Nicely done, Staci. I have found autumn to be a source of inspiration on more than one occasion. In some ways, your poem makes me think of people (some of us) in the turmoils of life. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes,

Regis (Reg)

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
