Birthday

To my daughter Stephanie who turned 8 years old

Giggles and smiles
So sorry little Stephi
You will hurt for awhile

Singing and cake
So sorry little Stephi
A painful experience
You had to take

Birthday girl
Little angel you are
Pushed down
And you fell too far

Feeling the breeze
As you skated by
Friends by your side
Under Mommy’s watchful eye

Accidents happen
What a shame
That sad man
Skating too fast
He took the blame

Long wait in that white room
After the ambulance came
Needed a diagnosis, and soon

You will pick a happy color
A cast you will wear
No more pain
Hold your teddy bear

Friends were there
Tears were shed
For the sorrow they share

It could be worse
We always say
Next year’s birthday
Will be a brighter day

Staci, this brought tears to my eyes, I hope your little darling will be okay soon. It's such a shame her birthday had to be ruined because birthday's to children as so very special. Thanks for sharing such a sad but caring writing. Prayers to you & your little darling.
