Spirit of Mother Earth

Upon arising from a restless sleep,
I felt something was wrong with Mother Earth.
My mind was swirled in spinning energy
I knew that Mother Earth was in trouble.

The news of an Earthquake of gigantic proportions
filled the pages of the internet.
My thoughts went immediately to you.
Your family lives in Haiti, oh please let them be safe.

I tried to reach you; but no success.
I later found that you had many relatives missing
and a cousin's house completely destroyed.
My heart goes out to you and your loved ones.

Just last week, you buried your father.
He was a Hatian immigrant to the USA.
Here since 1971, becoming a proactive citizen.
Also, never forgetting where he came from.

Each summer, your daddy would go back to Haiti,
visit the summer camps of many children,
bring them food, clothing and toys.
He was their Grandpa Bonny.

At his funeral your relatives from Haiti,
spoke with love and admiration.
Your Uncle said "Who will be Grandpa to the children?"
My heart broke at those words.

Now the country is in ruins,
and I don't know how it will recover
We need to send a helping hand
to all those victims and their families.

I will do my best on this end,
by sending healing energy and
prayers and blessings a plenty,
with hopes that our government will step up.

The Earth's spirit is with us always,
It is telling us to be aware of other disasters.
It is imminent, the Earth is crumbling
We are in the pathway of a new dawn.

Pray to the Earth Spirit,
send healing waves of positive energy
to all the people in Haiti,
and pray that our government does the right thing!
