If It was meant to be it would be done so delicately

if it was meant for your bed it would be more than words in your head

If it were at your place we would be lovers face to face

but we know how the story does go so we will treasure poetry for our soul

for Love with me is intense, wild and with dark desire

imagination behind closed doors is a strange fire

In total control is what I like to be

Its how I really mean it with poetry

...she who would not sacrifice similitude for authenticity must settle for seems, and sadly not only the superficial among us are taken in by seems of gold instead of waiting with patience and dedication for the real thing and cherishing it long after death has lost its illusory sting... there is a hint of the ironic subtext permeating this pithy, passionate write.

Ah, yes, if only for the moment, like you really mean it. I like the sadness behind the words, Amber. It is profound and real to me. This is a very well-written poem which takes on the superficiality of casual sex, or even long-term sexual partners.
