INTIMATE BLUES

you are guitar blues at midnight
played hot on an intimate stage
where steamy notes rise upward
from secret grottoes of desire
arousing sleeping imaginations
within a rhythmic fantasy of lust
sweet woman you are calling me
but a fantasy is all we can share
words on fire, verses of flame
fingertips caressing warm dreams
where reality stretches into infinity
blurring the limits of the material
into the fog of an ethereal touch
candy apple kisses that leave me
weak with wanting you beyond
words of love poetry scribbled
on the boards of my garden gate
where you pass in bright moonlight
like the whistle of a southbound train
or the intimate notes of guitar blues
playing over and over in my mind
