Angels Of Liberty, my opinion about the souls of fallen soldiers.
Angels Of Liberty
I woke up early this morning,
hoping it was all just bad dreams.
The fighting in the dark, the killing
and the screams.
I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
Looked around and saw the carnage
of what the night had brung, and
beside me a buddy lies.
Blood is on my hands, my finger is
on the trigger, and my soul is quickly
dying.
But I am still alive, while back home
his mother's crying.
Struggling to my feet, the smell of
death heavy in the air.
So many lie now dead, I feel it deep
inside as I die a little more, I run my
fingers through my hair.
When will it ever stop? Lord there's
no trace of an end in sight.
Lord bless the fallen souls, that didn't
make it through the night.
Kings of men and heroes of souls
God bless their spirits with peace.
They died here amid this dust
fighting for home, but now the battles
for them have ceased.
Angels of Liberty, gone now to rest.
Angels of Liberty, that gave to you
their best.
