You came saw and conquered
My resistance was minor
Or was it the other way round
Who cares about details
After the fallback
After the cease fire
After the death toll
After the silence
I wash I iron the white flag
I wave my pristine intentions
I inhabit my dreams’ drafty abode
I feed on evanescent rations
From rags to riches and back
This tug-of-war left me speechless
Unsheltered bare and exposed
I feel for my lost tongue
While my mind sings mute battle songs
Composes anthem of countries
That will never be
