Inspired by a picture in my Grandson's Highlights magazine
The paths of life are like the keys on a keyboard
every step strikes a key until your story's told
you make mistakes trying to right all the wrongs
all the while you listening to your inner songs
Wishing you could use the erase tape
wishing you could delete the mistake
Hoping your kids won't copy you someday
as you watch them outside as they play
as the years go by and you go around the final bend
you hope your story will have a good end
and not trail along like a very slow snail
that the end won't be shadowed by veil
we will try to find others of our kind
who think like us with like minds
we will try to make our story unfold
like the greatest story ever told
the friends we make may not agree
with our vision of our own story
And help us to see it another way
changing our story day after day
and so life goes on each and everyday
meeting new friends along the way
So enjoy each step around every bend
until they finally say . . . The End
