He stands his gound on top a rock
They bob up and down and their eyes lock
They bob and weave then stomp their feet
Both of them fighting hoping to defeat
It's a passage, a rite, an enticing dance
Both with the hope of finding romance
Trying to win each their own territory
So each can have their never ending story
Equal in size, or so it would seem
Each one trying to hold onto the dream
Sometimes fast like a rabbit, sometimes slow as a snail
It seems that its over when one flicks his tail
But the other one is not willing to lose
he'll fight for the right to choose
Niether one's hurt, the battle is done
He won his fight when the other did run
A pair of lizards is an entertainment center! I have seen some of this dance between "Moe" and "Marge" but alas, their romance has been broken up. Marge has a new home and Moe succumbed to a lizard malady.
This is a well-written poem, though, and entertaining to read.
