At ten he lives just for fun
Play outside enjoy the sun
Too young to think of worldly things
Gotta go, hit the swings

At twenty looms a future bright
New career, achieve new heights
Pondering success’ fame
On the move, in the game

At thirty, goals seem so clear
Raise the kids, weekend beers
Corporate games are hard to take
Choices made become mistakes

At forty, new realities grow
Mortalities light begins to glow
Career's a job, a waste of time
Mid-life crisis comes to mind

Fifties, both good and bad
Financial freedom wish he had
A boat, maybe a brand new car
Oh so near and yet so far

Sixty now, how strange to think
Life passed him by, t’was like a blink
Fond memories loom but sorrows too
So much undone, so much to do

Seventies, what will they bring?
Tired and old or brand new things?
Each day a miracle, a tribute to life
Taking it slow, the end in sight

Eighties, should they appear?
More it seem do make it here
What must this age be truly like?
Accept the end? Keep up the fight?

From birth we race towards death it seems
Wisdom, love the important things
All the rest is left behind
Garage sale fodder, weekend finds
