They met by chance; innocence found
Never a thought of messing around
Enjoying the chat;, felt so at ease
A friendship was born; each eager to please
Passions erupting out of the blue
More than a fling, each of them knew
Falling prey to a moment’s embrace
Followed by guilt, thoughts of disgrace
Acknowledging that life was unfair
Discussing options the burdens they bare
Confused and distracted with each flaming spark
Stay true to their vows? Deny their hearts?
Him with his wife; committed for life
Her marriage grown cold no passion in site
Right from the start, they knew it was wrong
Two hearts like these; together belong
Wrong though it was, so right it all seemed
He her white knight, she his loved queen
Who can say where this story might end
Can they exist merely as friends?
Will guilt divide drive them apart?
Pursue an affair, sins of the heart
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
