Incremental recalibrations of truth Corruption seeping in to the heart An ego’s artificial luminescence Darkness disguised, continuous lies An abomination of the soul Destruction of innocence unfolds Obliteration of the spirit Screaming exhorting, praying to die Deafening silence, no one replies Defecting, evolving, salvation lost Succumbing, surrendering all hope Seduction’s grasp extinguishing faith Loneliness a sanctuary found Eclipsing pain abundant numbness Tomorrow awaits compassionless Blind to the darkness raging within © Michael R Wood 2002
